BVSc (Hons.) MACVSc (Equine Dentistry)
A distinguished graduate with Honours from Queensland University in 1998, Dr. Rebecca Walshe has carved a remarkable career in the field of veterinary medicine, with a particular emphasis on equine dentistry. Her journey began as an equine vet at Canberra Veterinary Hospital in 1998, where her passion for enhancing equine performance and addressing lameness issues took center stage.
In 2006, Rebecca’s dedication to her craft led her to the grand stage of the World Equestrian Games in Aachen, where she served as a groom for Kelly Layne on the Dressage team. This experience provided her with invaluable insights, as she spent six weeks at Ulla Salzgeber’s training stables with the Australian Dressage team in preparation for the prestigious event.
Rebecca’s commitment to excellence in equine dentistry was further demonstrated when she achieved accreditation from the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists (ACVSc) in 2008 after successfully completing her Post Graduate Veterinary Membership exams.
Notably, Rebecca has extended her influence beyond the clinic, making appearances on the television program Animal Hospital and offering expert veterinary advice on ABC radio. Her expertise and dedication shine through not only in her clinical roles but also in her active participation as a horse rider and competitor, specializing in the intricate world of dressage.
Outside of the clinic, Rebecca finds joy in the companionship of her dogs, Charlotte and Eagle and her feline friend, Knolsey, all of whom play integral roles in the training sessions in the dressage arena. Dr. Rebecca Walshe stands as a testament to a veterinarian whose commitment to equine dentistry is not just a profession but a lifelong dedication to the well-being and performance of her equine patients.
