Dr. Kirsty is our Lead Veterinarian at Vetcall Burleigh, she graduated from the University of Queensland in 2016 and has been practising for 8 years. She started her early career as an Emergency and Critical Care vet in a specialist referral hospital, where she completed further training, before settling into a busy mixed-animal general practice in the outer suburbs of Brisbane. More recently, she spent time as a locum veterinarian, travelling around Australia and New Zealand working in many different vet clinics, before deciding to move to the Gold Coast.

Throughout her career, Dr. Kirsty has been very passionate about medical imaging/ultrasonography and has completed extensive professional development in this area. She is able to offer this high-level diagnostic service for your pet on the spot, in clinic, rather than needing referral. She has also completed further education courses in small animal dentistry, clinical cytology, wound management, emergency stabilisation and poultry medicine. Her vast clinical experience and commitment to continuing education means that Dr. Kirsty is very equipped to deal with all kinds of patients, particularly those with more complex medical and emergent conditions.

Originally from South Africa, Kirsty moved with her family to Australia when she was young. She has always loved animals big and small and owned everything from horses to turtles and hamsters. Now, she is owned by her gorgeous Golden Retriever, Millie, who you may see featuring on our socials regularly!

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her partner and her family, travelling and being out in nature.
