Sae Namekata-Wales has been in the veterinary field since 2008 and officially became a veterinarian in Australia in 2010. Her inspiration to pursue this career came at the age of 9 when she witnessed a veterinarian treat her pet rabbit, a moment that sparked her lifelong passion for animal care.
As a veterinary surgeon, Sae finds great joy in helping animals recover and cherishes the heartwarming phone calls and visits from grateful owners. For her, there’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing the happiness on pet owners’ faces when their beloved companions have made a full recovery.
Sae’s areas of special interest include ophthalmology, dermatology, internal medicine, exotic animal medicine, and soft tissue surgery. She enjoys being an all-rounder in veterinary medicine, tackling everything from surgery and internal medicine to dentistry, dermatology, and even animal psychology.
Her advice to pet owners is simple yet important: be mindful of what and how much you feed your pets to ensure their health and well-being.
Outside of the clinic, Sae’s family has a unique pet—a chick that one of her kids brought home from school. The chick, now a beloved family member, has moved up in the family hierarchy ever since she started laying eggs!
